WESTFIELD, Mass. - A late comeback fell just short as Western New England College dropped a 3-2 decision to Westfield State College in a non conference match Wednesday.

The Owls won the first two games by scores of 30-28 and 30-25 before the Golden Bears came back to take games three and four by scores of 31-29 and 30-24.

Westfield State then won the deciding fifth game 15-9.

Junior middle blocker Teddy Woeppel (Cooperstown, NY) led the Golden Bears with 12 kills and five blocks. Western New England College falls to 0-4 on the season.
