Box Score

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior center Lisa Masella (Newtown, CT) continued her strong play with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, both game highs, but the Western New England College women's basketball had an off second half shooting performance Saturday in a 60-58 loss at Johnson & Wales University in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener for both teams.

Sophomore guard Tiffany DeRosa (Hamden, CT) contributed 10 points for the Golden Bears who saw their record fall to 7-4 overall.

Western New England College shot 54.2% from the floor in the first half to take a 34-30 lead at the break. The Golden Bears made only 7-of-26 attempts (26.5) from the field after intermission and that proved to be the difference.
