AUBURN, Mass. - Senior tri-captain Dave Wright (New City, NY) had a goal and assist, and sophomore Jamie Babineau (Medway, MA) compiled 24 saves, to lead the Western New England College men's hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Worcester State Thursday night in a on conference match-up.

This was the first shutout for the Golden Bears in 136 contests dating back to a 10-0 win over Nichols on February 8, 2000.

Western New England College took a 2-0 lead after the first period on a power play goal by sophomore Nick Sampson (Reading, MA) at the 4:24 mark and the ninth goal of the season by freshman Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL) with 35 seconds remaining in the stanza.

Wright then tallied at 4:21 of the second period before freshman Philip Lamy (Manchester, NH) hit the back of the net at 5:56 of the final period to complete the scoring.

The Golden Bears (3-8-2) have a 3-1-1 mark in their last five outings.
