Western New England College battles league leader Curry to overtime tie

MILTON, Mass. - Freshman forward Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL) had two goals and an assist, including the game-tying score in the third period, as Western New England College skated to a 4-4 overtime tie against league leader Curry Tuesday night in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey game at the Max Ulin Rink.

Sophomore goalie Jamie Babineau (Medway, MA) compiled 40 saves for the Golden Bears who stayed with the highly-regarded Colonels the entire evening.

Western New England College took a 2-0 lead in the first period after goals by freshman forward Hank Levin (Lido Beach, NY) at the 8:38 mark and the first collegiate score by freshman forward Jason Remsbecker (Farmingdale, NY) at 10:44. 

Curry tied the contest with two goals later in the period and went ahead 3-2 with a goal at 8:03 of the second stanza.

Majesty then tied the game with a goal at 11:22 before the Colonels went ahead again by scoring a goal with 1:52 remaining in the period. Majesty's team-high 11th goal of the season at 2:13 of the third period knotted the back-and-forth contest for the final time.

Western New England College is now 3-9-3 overall and 0-6-2 in the ECAC Northeast. Curry is 9-9-1, but 8-1-1 in the league.
