FRAMINGHAM, Mass. â€" In a back and forth match that went five games, the Western New England College women’s volleyball team captured a 3-2 decision over Framingham State in a non-league outing Thursday night (Oct. 19).

The game scores were 30-25, 21-30, 30-16, 29-31, and 15-10.

Senior Amy Lorinovich (Hampstead, NH) led the Golden Bears with 17 kills and five aces. Juniors Kayte Devine (New Fairfield, CT) and Ashley O’Keefe (South Dennis, MA) added 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Senior Kristin Wellen (Marlboro, MA) also played well with 23 digs while freshman Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) chipped in with 8 kills, five aces, and three blocks.

Western New England College, under first-year coach Charlie Haer, now has a 14-8 record.

The Golden Bears hit the road again with a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match at Rivier Saturday (Oct. 21) along with a non-conference match against Southern Vermont.
