Western New England College comes up just short in marathon match at Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. â€" In a marathon match that took two-and-a-half hours, the Western New England College women’s volleyball team dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 decision to Roger Williams University in a non-league match Thursday night (Oct. 26).

The game scores (winning team first) were 27-30, 30-25, 30-28, 27-30, and 15-13.

Western New England College led 8-3 in the final game before the Hawks rallied with five straight points that sparked a 12-5 run for the win.

Senior Amy Lorinovich (Hampstead, NH) led the Golden Bears with 13 kills. Senior Jess Vogel (Tonawanda, NY) added 44 assists while freshman Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) chipped-in with 13 digs and eight kills.

Western New England College now has a 15-11 record; Roger Williams improves to 12-17.
