Western New England College drops match at Colby-Sawyer in ECAC Tournament

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The sixth-seeded Western New England College women's volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss at third-seeded Colby-Sawyer College Wednesday night (Nov. 8) in a quarterfinal round match of the ECAC Division III New England Championship.

It was a close match as the Golden Bears lost the games by scores of 30-22, 30-24, and 30-25.

Senior Amy Lorinovich (Hampstead, NH) had 11 kills and became the all-time leader in Western New England College history with 1,230 kills, breaking the old mark of 1,224 set by Brenda Post from 1999-2002.

Senior Jess Vogel (Tonawanda, NY) added 30 assists while freshman Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) contributed 11 digs, nine kills, and three aces.

Western New England College finished with an 18-13 record after qualifying for the program's first post-season championship outside of conference competition.
