WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Nichols College erupted for four goals in the first 10 minutes of the first period and cruised to a 5-2 victory over Western New England College in a non-league men’s hockey game Saturday night (Dec. 2) at the Olympia Ice Center.

Sophomore defenseman Kyle Cook (Chino Hills, CA) gave the Bison a 1-0 lead just 51 seconds into the game.

Nichols extended its lead to 5-0 early in the second period before the Golden Bears got on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal by sophomore center Joe Willard (Holliston, MA) at the 14:23 mark.

Sophomore forward Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL) netted the final goal for the home squad with an assist from senior forward Mike Amato (Mt. Laurel, NJ) 19 seconds into the third period.

Nichols improves its record to 7-1-1 while Western New England College slips to 4-5.
