FRAMINGHAM, Mass. â€" Sophomore forward Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL) had two goals and sophomore goalie Kyle Sagnella (East Haven, CT) made 28 saves in his first collegiate start to lift the Western New England College men’s hockey team to a 4-1 non-league victory over Framingham State College Tuesday night (Dec. 5).
Sophomore left wing Philip Lamy (Manchester, NH) and freshman forward Matt Haddock (Hilliard, OH) continued their fine play by each compiling a goal and assist.
Haddock tallied his fourth goal of the season at 10:13 of the opening period to give the Golden Bears a 1-0 lead.
After the Rams tied the contest at 3:59 of the middle stanza Majesty scored the game-winner at 8:37 with assists from Lamy and sophomore forward Dean Smith (Warwick, RI).
Lamy upped the margin to 3-1 with his sixth goal of the season at the 8:23 juncture of the third period with an assist from Haddock.
Majesty closed out the scoring with a power play goal with assists from junior forward Shawn Longley (Lewiston, ME) and freshman forward Justin Graziano (North Haven, CT) at 17:45.
Sagnella, meanwhile, was outstanding in the net making 12 saves in the first period and eight apiece in the final two sessions.
Western New England College evens its record at 5-5, which surpasses last year’s win total of four. The Rams fall to 1-7-1.
