CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Western New England College bounced back from an afternoon loss to Montclair State (4-3 in 9 innings) to defeat Nichols (13-2) Thursday night at the Gene Cusic Softball Classic.

The Golden Bears went ahead 3-2 in the top of the seventh in the opener before Montclair tied the contest in the bottom of the inning before pushing across the winning run in the ninth. Senior shortstop Kristy Kehoss (Cheshire, CT) had two hits, including a double, for Western New England College.

In the second game, sophomore designated hitter Jackie Card (Greenfield, MA) was the hitting star going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs-batted-in. Senior pitcher Megan Cloutier (Greenfield, MA) picked up her first win of the season.

Western New England College now has a 3-3 record.
