BOSTON, Mass. - Western New England College got back on the winning track with a 7-2 victory over Suffolk University Saturday in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's tennis match. The Golden Bears, who snapped a three-match losing streak, won five of six singles and two of three doubles matches.
With senior Ed Fallon (Springfield, MA) out with an injury, freshman Jason Lee (Scarsdale, NY) moved up to No. 2 singles and posted a straight set victory (6-3, 6-2). Freshman Alex Boutin (Bristol, CT) also captured his match in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) at the No. 3 position. Boutin is undefeated in singles competition (9-0) this spring. Lee and Boutin then teamed to win their No. 2 doubles match.
Western New England College is now 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
