The Jeffs took a 3-0 lead in the fourth on a two-out RBI single by junior third base player Caroline Polales (Winnetka, IL) and two-run homer over the center field fence by Shaw.
The Golden Bears (31-8)Â tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the fourth when freshman center fielder Brenna Fitzgerald (Manchester, NH) knocked in a run with a single followed by a two-run single by sophomore designated hitter Jackie Card (Greenfield, MA).
Amherst (16-8) scored an unearned run in the sixth and two more unearned runs in the seventh with Shaw bringing home both runs with a two-out double.
