BOSTON, Mass. - The games were close, but UMass-Boston prevailed by claiming a 3-1 victory over the visiting Western New England College women's volleyball team Wednesday evening (Sept. 27).

The Beacons took the opening two games 30-26 and 30-25 before the Golden Bears came away with a 33-31 win. The hosts closed the meeting with a 30-24 decision in the fourth game.

Junior middle hitter Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) enjoyed a fine night for WNEC compiling a double-double with 18 kills and 15 digs. She also added five blocks.

Senior setter Jess Vogel (Tonawanda, NY) contributed 46 assists for the Golden Bears who fall to 8-7.
