SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's tennis team opened its dual meet season with an 8-1 loss at city rival Springfield College Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 6) at Appleton Courts.
Senior Kristyn Villany (Red Bank, NJ) took the No. 2 singles match for the Golden Bears with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Melissa Weinstein (Allentown, PA).
This was Springfield's first victory over Western New England College in four years.
