NEW LONDON, Conn. - Senior co-captain Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) became the school's all-time career kill leader as the Western New England College women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches Saturday (Oct. 20).
The Golden Bears blanked Eastern Connecticut 3-0 (30-27, 30-25, and 30-27) in a close contest in the opener before falling by a similar score to host Connecticut College (30-12, 30-21, and 30-23).
O'Keefe totaled 26 kills, including 14 against the Warriors and 12 to set the new mark against the Camels. She now has 1,238 kills, breaking the old mark of 1,230 set by former teammate Amy Lorinovich from 2003-06.
Sophomore Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) played well with 19 kills (11 vs. Connecticut College). She also compiled 12 digs against Eastern.
Freshman Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) contributed 53 assists with 27 coming against the Warriors.
