Walz rallied the Golden Bears with a 45-yard scoring pass to sophomore receiver Matt O'Brien (South Windsor, CT) (5 catches, 116 yards) just 35 second later. Walz and O'Brien hooked up on the two-point conversion to cut the margin to 34-27. Walz then ran one-yard again for a touchdown to knot the score at 34 with 5:48 left.
Western New England College took over on downs on its 43, but settled for a 52-yard punt by junior Jordan Capitanio (Torrington, CT) that was downed at the SRU five. The Seahawks moved to their own 34, then punted, where WNEC took over at its own 37 with 1:37 left.
Walz, however, threw his fourth interception and Salve Regina had a final chance starting at the WNEC 41 with 1:01 remaining. St. Onge (13-for-23, 153 yards, 3 TDs) completed all three passes in the drive, including the game-winner on the final play of the game.
