SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College women's volleyball team won one of three matches at the Springfield Tom Hay Invitational this weekend.
On Friday (Oct. 5), the Golden Bears dropped a 3-0 decision to Plymouth State by the scores of 30-20, 33-31, and 30-27.
Western New England College started on a strong note Saturday (Oct. 6) with a 3-0 victory over first-time opponent Randolph College (Va.). The game scores were 30-24, 30-28, and 30-25.
In the second match of the day, Roger Williams posted a hard-fought 3-1 victory over WNEC by the scores of 31-29, 30-26, 25-30, and 30-25.
WNEC senior outside hitter/middle bocker Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) had 65 kills and 23 digs in the three matches to make the All-Tournament Team.
Western New England College now has a 16-6 record.
