MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - Scoring all of its goals on power plays, Morrisville State College posted a 3-1 victory over visiting Western New England College in a non-league men's hockey contest Saturday night (Nov. 3).

It was the first win of the season for Mustangs (1-4) while the Golden Bears fall to 0-2.

After a scoreless first period, Keith Williams gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at the 3:23 mark of the second stanza.

Western New England College tied the contest just 1:43 later when junior Phil Lamy (Manchester, NH) tallied his first goal of the season with assists from freshman Kyle Daly (Auburn, MA) and junior David Smith (Columbus, IN). 

Williams scored again on a power play at 18:54 as the Mustangs took another lead after the middle period.

The game remained close until Stefan Carneige gave Morrisville an insurance goal with 1:08 left in the game.

Junior goalie Kyle Sagnella (East Haven, CT) had another solid outing for the Golden Bears finishing with 29 saves as did Brett Freese of Morrisville.
