BOSTON, Mass. – Matt Gilman scored two goals, the first coming just 2:06 into the game, to lead Wentworth Institute of Technology to a 5-0 victory over visiting Western New England College in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey contest Thursday night (Nov. 8) at Matthews Arena.

It was a tough night for the Golden Bears who managed only 21 shots while going 0-for-9 in power play opportunities.

The Leopards led 2-0 after the first period and added their final three goals (two on power plays) in the middle stanza. Tyler Medeiros added three assists as WIT raised its record to 2-0.

Western New England College (0-4) will host Hobart (N.Y.) in its home opener at 7:40 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 10) at Smead Arena in Springfield.
