Jes Nelson of Western New England College named GNAC Co-Player-of-the-Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England College senior first base player Jes Nelson (South Hadley, MA) keeps hitting and getting awards.

On Monday (April 9), she was a repeat choice as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Co-Player-of-the-Week after batting .454 (10-for-22) in a 4-2 week for the Golden Bears.

Nelson had three doubles, a triple, three homers, seven runs, and 13 RBI in the six games. She went 4-for-7 with three homers and seven RBI in a doubleheader sweep over Norwich that knocked the Cadets from the unbeaten ranks in the conference.

Nelson, a Sport Management major, leads the team in hitting with a .453 average.

Western New England College (12-8) visits Amherst in an non-league outing at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 10).
