SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team split a pair of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) matches Saturday (Sept. 29) at the Alumni Healthful Living Centert.

WNEC dropped its opening match to Gordon College by the score of 3-0. The game scores were 30-26, 30-28, and 30-17.

The Golden Bears bounced back to take the final match of the afternoon with a 3-1 decision over the University of New England 3-1. Game scores were 30-24, 12-30, 30-20, and 30-15.

Senior Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) had 40 kills (23 vs. UNE), 23 digs, and six service aces in the two matches.

Freshman Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) dished out 63 assists, including 36 against UNE with four service aces.

Junior libero Lizzie Manor (Black River, NY) contributed 13 digs against the University of New England.

In the second match, UNE topped Gordon 3-2 (30-26, 33-31, 29-31, 21-30, 15-6).

Western New England College now has a 15-3 record along with a 3-2 mark in TCCC.
