SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England Colege women's tennis team extended its winning streak to five with a 5-1 victory over visiting Gordon Thursday (Oct. 2).
Three singles matches weren't completed due to darkness.
Senior captain Nicole Freed (Jersey Shore, PA) and freshman Jessica Haffner (Suffield, CT) won their No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches, respectively, and teamed up for another win at the No. 2 doubles flight.
Junior Kelly Murnane (Cheshire, CT) captured her No. 5 singles match and teamed with sophomore Ashley Czelatka (Southampton, NY) for a win at the No. 3 doubles flight.
The Golden Bears are now 5-4 and 3-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).
The Fighting Scots fall to 4-5 and 3-3 in the conference.
