BROOKLINE, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team returned to the win column with a 3-0 victory over Newbury in a non-conference match Monday evening (Oct. 20).

The Golden Bears prevailed by the scores of 25-16, 25-23, and 25-18.

Junior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) led the attack with 10 kills and six digs.

Freshman middle blocker/outside hitter Inna Sergeychik (West Springfield, MA) contributed five kills.

Also playing well were sophomore libero Marci Egnert (Wayne, NJ) with 12 digs and two service aces and freshman outside hitter Julie Jackson (Princess Anne, MD) who had four digs and a block.

The Golden Bears are now 12-16 while the Nighthawks fall to 3-23.
