WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - At the Williams Invitational Friday evening (Oct. 4), the Western New England College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches defeating Westfield State 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23) before falling to host Williams 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-14).

In the opening match, sophomore setter Lauren Strick (Harrisville, RI) had a double-double with 34 assists and 11 digs.

Freshman outside hitter Caroline Bitters (Greenfield, MA) added 14 digs and seven kills.

The Golden Bears now have a 7-8 record entering Saturday's second-round action against SUNY Oneonta and Hamilton.
