Box Score SALEM, Mass. - Senior forward Tim Lane (Townsend, MA) scored 23 points as the Bowdoin men's basketball team posted a 72-39 victory over Western New England College in an opening round game of the Salem State Tournament Friday (Nov. 21).
The Polar Bears (2-0) led only 21-18 at half-time before shooting 64% in the second half to break away from the Golden Bears.
Lane connected on 11-of-12 shots from the field and also pulled down four rebounds. He was the only player on either team who scored in double figures.
Senior forward Kyle Fredette (Wallingford, VT) and junior forward Mike Booker (Springfield, MA) each had six points and five rebounds for Western New England College.
The Golden Bears finished shooting only 24% from the field in falling to 0-2.
WNEC will meet Wheelock at 3:00 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 22) in the third-place game.
Bowdoin will play host Salem State in the championship contest at 7.
