CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Andres Fanjul and sophomore Mohammed Al Neuimi each posted wins in both singles and doubles play to lift Suffolk to a 6-3 non-league victory over Western New England College in the men's tennis season opener for both teams Wednesday evening (March 12) at the Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School.
Junior Jason Lee (Scarsdale, NY) was a winner in both the number three singles and doubles positions for the visiting Golden Bears. He posted a straight-set win in his singles match and teamed with classmate Mike Willhoft (Manchester, CT) for an 8-6 victory in doubles action.
Junior Alex Boutin (Bristol, CT) collected the other WNEC point of the evening with a three-set victory at the number two singles flight.
Fanjul and Al Neuimi each notched straight set triumphs at the number one and four singles spots, respectively, for the host Rams, and teamed for an 8-6 victory at the number one doubles position.
