BEVERLY, Mass. – The Western New England College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to host Endicott Tuesday afternoon (March 25) in its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener.
Freshman Brian Relihan (Orange, CT) led the Golden Bears by capturing both his No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles matches. Teaming with classmate Mike Jones (Stone Ridge, NY), the pair posted an exciting 9-8 (7-5) victory leading off the doubles competition.
Also winning their matches were senior Ryan Turner (Yorkville, IL) and junior Alex Boutin (Bristol, CT) at No. 2 doubles and junior Jason Lee (Scarsdale, NY) at No. 3 singles.
Western New England College falls back to the .500 mark at 3-3.
The Gulls, who also were playing their conference opener, improve to 4-2.
