BEVERLY, Mass. - Winning four singles matches in straight sets, the Endicott women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over visiting Western New England College Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 10).
The Gulls also took all three doubles matches to win their Commonwealth Coast Conference opener while raising their overall mark to 2-0.
Junior Kelly Murname (Cheshire, CT) had the lone win for the Golden Bears with a 7-6, 6-1 decision over senior Kate Fiske (Westerly, RI) at #5 singles.
Freshman Jessica Haffner (Suffield, CT) played well at #4 singles despite a 3-6, 6-4 (10-4) loss against junior Alyson Boehm (Lowell, MA).
WNEC is now 0-2 with both defeats coming against conference opponents.
