SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team climbed back over the .500 mark with an easy 3-0 victory over visiting Saint Joseph (Conn.) Tuesday evening (Sept. 23) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

This was the second consecutive shutout for the Golden Bears who now have a 5-4 record.

Junior middle blocker Christina Longto (Kingston, NY) led the home team with seven kills and three blocks.

Junior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) added seven kills and three digs.

Also for Western New England College, sophomore middle blocker Lauren Landri (New Canaan, CT) added six kills while sophomore setter Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) contributed 25 assists.

Sophomore middle hitter Brittany Souza (Newington, CT) led the Blue Jays with six kills and three blocks. Junior outside hitter Catherine Irwin (Barkhamsted, CT) also had six kills.

Saint Joseph (Conn.) falls to 3-6.
