Western New England College plays well despite conference loss at Gordon

WENHAM, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team played well despite dropping a 3-2 decision at Gordon Tuesday night (Sept. 30).

It was a close match with the Fighting Scots finally prevailing by the scores of 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 21-25, and 19-17.

Junior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) had a terrific match for the Golden Bears finishing with season highs of 29 kills and 30 digs.

Sophomore setter Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) contributed 42 assists and 21 digs while sophomore middle blocker Lauren Landri (New Canaan, CT) added 10 kills and three blocks.

Western New England College is now 6-7 overall and 1-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

Gordon improves to 9-5, including a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play.
