Box Score DANBURY, Conn. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 victory over Framingham State Friday night (Sept. 5) at the Western Connecticut Invitational for its second straight shutout.
The Golden Bears (2-0) were in control the entire way moving past the Rams by the scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-15.
Jujior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) led WNEC with 10 kills and eight digs.
Senior Lizzie Manor (Black River, NY) contributed 18 digs while sophomore Samantha Shomo (Glen Gardner, NJ) added five aces.
For Framingham, sophomore Ashley Trudeau (Rockland, MA) had eight kils and sophomore Allie Appleman (Hyannis, MA) 10 digs.
Host WestConn blanked Lasell 3-0 (25-10, 25-11, 25-11) in the other match of the evening.
The four-team Invitational continues Saturday (Sept. 6) with four more matches.
