Senior center Matt Arsenault (Gardner, MA) scored on an unassisted power play goal at 11:47 of the third period to lead host Fitchburg State to a 2-1 victory over the Golden Bears Saturday (Jan. 24) in an ECAC Northeast battle.

Western New England College tied the game on a short-handed goal by freshman forward Mike Kaselouskas (East Longmeadow, MA) at 3:40 of the second stanza.
Fitchburg State sophomore goalie Robert Vorse (Leominster, MA) and WNEC sophomore Justin Richards (Somers, CT) each compiled 25 saves.
The Golden Bears fall to 1-14-1 and 1-7-1 in the ECAC Northeast. The Falcons improve to 7-6-4 and 4-3-2 in the league.
