SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to four matches with a 3-0 victory over visiting Newbury in a non-league contest Thursday evening (Oct. 1) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

The game scores were  25-12, 25-13, and 25-13.

Junior outside hitter Samantha Shomo (Glen Gardner, NJ) led the Golden Bears with eight kills and five aces.

Junior middle blocker Lauren Landri (New Canaan, CT) added seven kills.

Also for WNEC, junior setter Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) contributed 20 assists and four service aces while junior libero Marci Egbert (Wayne, NJ) chipped-in with 15 diggs.

Newbury's top players were freshman outside hitter Sara Hanna (Center Moriches, NY) with 17 digs and four kills, and sophomore outside hitter Tricia Corriveau (Coventry, RI) with six digs and three kills.

The Golden Bears are now 11-6 while the Nighthawks drop to 5-12.
