SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Kait Kozak of Western New England College was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women's Volleyball Coach-of-the-Year on Tuesday (Nov. 3).

In her rookie season Kozak directed the Golden Bears to a 24-8 record, which established a new school record for wins, breaking the old mark of 22 set two years ago.

Western New England College tied for first place with Endicott in the conference with a 9-1 mark,

Junior Marci Egbert (Wayne, NJ) also gained a major award after being selected TCCC “Libero-of-the-Year.”

Egbert also was among six players named to the All-Conference Team.

She made the All-TCCC First Team along with senior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) and junior setter Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL).

Honorable mention recognition went to senior middle hitter Christina Longto (Kingston, NY), junior middle blocker Lauren Landri (New Canaan, CT), and junior outside hitter Samantha Shomo (Glen Gardner, NJ).

Cervone and Boes serve as the team co-captains.
