Western New England College blanks host Curry in conference match

MILTON, Mass. - The Western New England College men's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over host Curry Sunday afternoon (April 5) for its third consecutive win.

Sophomore Matt Minahan (Plymouth, MA) keyed the triumph by winning both his No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles matches in his first start of the season.

Minahan posted a 6-1, 6-0 decision over senior Douglas Tremblay (Hingham, MA) and teamed with freshman JonPaul Ouellete (Bethlehem, CT) for an 8-5 win over sophomore Robert Rosenbaum (Sharon, MA) and freshman Thomas Bagley (Centerville, MA).

Senior co-captain Alex Boutin (Bristol, CT) took his No. 1 singles match over senior Justin Levene (Medfield, MA) 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.

The Golden Bears improve their record to 7-3 overall and  4-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

The Colonels are 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
