SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Nichols women's tennis team kept its perfect season going with a 6-3 victory over Western New England College Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 22).

The Bison improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) while the Golden Bears slip to 5-2 and 4-2.

Freshman Jillian McQuiggan (Weymouth, MA) led the visitors with a win at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with senior Molly McGuire (East Sandwich, MA).

Freshmen Alexandra Cifone (Bristol, CT) and Megan Woodruff (Morris, CT) each remained undefeated with victories at the No. 3 and No. 6 singles positions.

Western New England College won a pair of singles matches in tie-breakers with senior Kelly Murnane (Cheshire, CT) taking the No. 4 flight and sophomore Christina Barbarisi (Feeding Hills, MA) the No. 5 singles match.

Barbarisi and freshman Linda Mustafa (Chicopee, MA) also posted a win at No. 3 doubles for the Golden Bears.
