BOSTON, Mass. - The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's basketball team used a strong second half to defeat Western New England College 63-47 Wednesday evening (Jan. 20) in a battle of unbeaten conference teams at Tansey Gymnasium.
The Leopards improved their record to 8-8 overall and 4-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The Golden Bears, who had a seven-game win streak end, fall to 10-4 overall and 3-1 in the league.
Freshman guard
Ashley Conway (Danvers, MA) poured-in a career high 19 points for the hosts who rallied from a 20-14 halftime deficit.
WIT had three other players in double figures as senior guard Michele Fauci (Boxford, MA) had 13, all in the second half. Senior forward

Morgan Furman (Falmouth, ME) each tossed-in 10 points.
Western New England College suffered its second worst shooting night of the season after making only 31.4% of its shots from the floor. The Golden Bears were out-scored 49-27 in the second stanza.

Loren Stock (Rocky Hill, CT) and
Taryn Belowsky (West Haven, CT) led WNEC with nine and eight points, respectively.

Emily Savino (Ellington, CT) managed only six points while senior guard
Kailah Al-Darraji (Dover, NH) was held to only three points (all coming from the foul line). Al-Darraji and sophomore forward
