NEW LONDON, N.H. - Senior forward
Jon Chaloux (Barre, VT) scored 21 points and senior guard
David Rosso (Wilmington, VT) added 20 to lead the Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team to a 95-86 victory over Western New England College in the final game of the regular season for both teams Saturday (Feb. 20).
The Chargers raised their record to 14-11 overall and 7-6 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The Golden Bears dropped to 12-13 and also finished with a 7-6 mark in the league.
Also scoring in double figures for the hosts were sophomore guards
Will Bardaglio (Wayne, ME) with 15 points and
Zach McBey (Franklin, NH).
Western New England College also had four players score in double digits with senior guard
Rick Johnson (Springfield, MA) tossing in a game-high 27 points. He also dished out eight assists and had a pair of steals.
Junior guard
Chris Devine (Wilbraham, MA) netted 14 points with a game-high nine rebounds (which was a game high), six assists, and three steals. Sophomore guard
Andrew Shaw (Jamaica, NY) and freshman guard
Chris Bonsu (Springfield, MA) each contributed 11 points. Both Shaw and Bonsu each grabbed four rebounds.
Colby-Sawyer led 48-39 at halftime and never trailed in the game.
Both teams shot well with the Chargers making 44.1% of their field-goal attempts and 69.0% from the foul line. The Golden Bears connected on 45.% of their shots and were an 87.1% (27-for-31) from the charity stripe.
CSC held a slight 40-36 edge off the boards with Chaloux and Rosso pulling down eight and seven, respectively. Rosso also had five assists and five steals. Freshman forward
Jason Chevrefils (Manchester, NH) collected seven rebounds and chipped-in with nine points.
