SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore defenseman Ryan Barlock (Niles, IL) scored the game-winner with 3:22 remaining as No. 17 Curry rallied for a 3-2 victory over Western New England College in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey contest Thursday night (Feb. 4) at Smead Arena.

The Colonels, who defeated WNEC 5-0 in their earlier meeting last November 19, are now 14-5-1 overall and undefeated in the league with an 8-0-1 mark.  The Golden Bears fall to 2-16-1 overall and 1-8 in the conference.

Two days after blasting Assumption 12-6, Western New England College played another strong game with an inspired effort. It came at a great time as Curry entered the week ranked 17th in USCHO.com Division III Poll.

The Golden Bears took a 1-0 lead when freshman forward Nico Santaniello (East Longmeadow, MA) scored on a power play goal 2:39 into the game with assists from junior forward Vin Weyel (North Haven, CT) and freshman forward Blake Lucier (Scarborough, ME).

Curry tied the game on a power play goal by freshman forward George Isham (Lake Bluff, IL) at the 6:27 mark. Junior defenseman Ryan Warsofsky (Marshfield, MA) and Barock gained the assists.

After a scoreless second stanza, WNEC went ahead 2-1 when sophomore forward Kory Grahl (San Diego, CA) fired home a shot just 34 seconds into the final period.

Isham again knotted the game with his second goal at the 9:37 mark with assists from freshman forward Connor Hendry (Alberta, Canada) and sophomore forward Shane Geib (Stoney Plain, Alberta).

That set the stage for Barlock who netted the winning shot with an assist from sophomore forward John Williams (Flourtown, PA).

Senior goalie Zachary Cardella (Spokane, WA) compiled 27 saves in his seventh start of the season.

WNEC freshman T.J. Fatse (Hampden, MA) stopped 34 shots in his seventh appearance of the year.
