Western New England College returns to winning ways with shutout victory over Gordon

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.
- The Western New England College women's tennis team returned to its winning ways with a 9-0 shutout victory over visiting Gordon College Saturday afternoon (Sept. 25).

The Golden Bears, who had dropped three straight matches, are now 3-5 overall and 3-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The Fighting Scots fall to 2-7  and 2-5 in the conference.

Junior Nicole DeSimone (Feeding Hills, MA) took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at the top singles position and teamed with junior Caitlin Hughes (Springfield, MA) for an 8-4 decision at number one doubles.

Junior Amanda Ide (Hamden, CT) rallied for an thrilling 2-6, 6-4, 10-8 win at number six doubles.
