Strong second-half leads Endicott over Western New England in TCCC contest

BEVERLY, Mass.
– Senior guard Ashley Wright (Merrimack, NH) notched a game-high 25 points to lead Endicott to a 66-55 win over visiting Western New England on Saturday (Jan. 15) afternoon in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match-up.

The Gulls improve to 9-5 with a 3-0 mark in TCCC play; while the Golden Bears slip to 9-5 with a 1-2 record in conference.

Western New England was led by sophomore guard Emily Savino (Ellington, CT) who scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed five rebounds. Senior forward Taryn Belowsky (New Haven, CT) contributed with seven points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Endicott senior center Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, MA) recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The two teams entered halftime knotted at 28-28; with the Gulls pulling away thanks to 16 second-half points by Wright.

After both teams shot an identical 44% (11-25) from the field in the first; Endicott shot 41.7% compared to Western New England's 22.2% in the second-half. Each team grabbed a total of 39 rebounds.

Western New England returns to the floor on Wednesday (Jan. 19) at 5:30 p.m. as they host Wentworth in TCCC action.
