Western New England sweeps Curry for win in Commonwealth Coast Conference play

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England cruises to a 3-0 win over Curry in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match on Wednesday (Oct. 26) evening at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.
 
The game scores were 25-13, 25-10, and 25-8.
 
WNE improves to 13-13 overall with a 4-3 record in CCC play; while the Colonels fall to 4-18 and are 0-7 in conference action.
 
The Golden Bears were led by sophomore middle hitter Tyler Singh (Dumont, NJ) with a game-high eight kills, four service aces, and three blocks.
 
Freshman libero Grace Kucharski (Avon, CT) led the team defensively with eight digs.
 
Before the match the Golden Bears honored the contributions of seniors Inna Sergeychik (West Springfield, MA) and Julie Jackson (Princess Anne, MD) to the WNE volleyball program.
 
Sergeychik was second on the team with 5 kills, and also contributed four assists and three digs in the match.
 
The Colonels were led defensively by sophomore libero Tyla Miller (Marshfield, MA) who had a game-high 14 digs.
 
The Golden Bears will close out the regular season by traveling to Gordon on Saturday (Oct. 29) at 1:00 p.m. The Colonels will face Wentworth on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in their regular season finale.
