SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England men's tennis team fell to visiting Springfield by the score of 8-1 Monday afternoon (Oct. 3).

This was the only match of the fall season for the Golden Bears who will resume competition with a full slate of contests next spring beginning with their annual spring break trip to Florida.

Western New England's only point came at number three doubles where sophomore Tyler Unwin (Pittsfield, VT) and freshman John Mindek (Willington, CT) teamed for an 8-4 win.

Unwin also played a strong match at number six singles dropping a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) decision.

The Pride (2-2) won all six singles matches in straight sets and dropped only eight games in the three doubles events.
