AMHERST, Mass. – Senior outside hitter
Cristy Meier (San Anselmo, CA) and
KC Kanoff (Pacific Palisades, CA) combined for 28 kills to lead the Amherst women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Western New England in a non-conference match Wednesday evening (Oct. 5) at LeFrak Gym.
The game scores were 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, and 25-12.
Meier led the way with 17 kills in 35 attempts for a .486 hitting percentage while Kanoff added 11 kills as the Lord Jeffs raised their record to 11-3.
Senior libero
Kristin Keeno (Honolulu, HI) contributed 38 digs and junior setter
Callie Nelson (Escondido, CA) 46 assists.
The Golden Bears, who were playing their second match in as many nights, fall to 7-9.
Freshman outside hitter
Kasey Cameron (Reading, MA) had a team high 11 kills. Sophomore middle hitter
Tyler Singh (Dumont, NJ) chipped in with six kills.
Western New England had three players compile double digits in digs, freshmen liberos
Grace Kucharski (Avon, CT) and
Kendra Ouimette (Conway, MA) with 15 and 14, respectively, and freshman outside
Carolyn Hajdusek (Northfield, NH) with 10.
Freshmen setter
Val Smith (Norristown, PA) had 13 assists while junior setter
Heather Mears (Amherst, MA) had 12.
