WENHAM, Mass. – Sophomore forward David Dempsey (Wallingford, CT) led four players scoring in double figures with 17 points as the Gordon men's basketball team earned a 78-59 victory over Western New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) play at the Bennett Center Saturday afternoon (Feb. 12).

Dempsey also contributed six rebounds and five assists as the Fighting Scots improved to 10-13 with a 6-5 TCCC mark. The Golden Bears fall to 4-19 with a 3-8 record in league play.

Senior forward Greg Walker (Uxbridge, MA) posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Joining Dempsey and Walker in double figures were junior guard Garrett Harden (Worcester, MA) with 15 points and senior guard Austin Bentson (Branchville, NJ) with 10 points.

Sophomore guard Damon Alston (New Britain, CT) led Western New England with 12 points after making 4-of-6 shots from beyond the arc.

Senior guard Chris Devine (Wilbraham, MA) contributed 10 points and four assists while senior forward Brad Thomka (Springfield, MA) added 11 points in a reserve role.

Gordon shot 53.8% from the field and 56.3% (9-of-16) from three point range, compared to just 36.2% from the floor and 30% (6-of-20) from downtown for Western New England.
