Western New England comeback falls short against Colby-Sawyer in season finale

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.
– Junior guard Will Bardaglio (Wayne, ME) poured in a career-high 38 points to lead Colby-Sawyer to an 88-81 victory over Western New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) regular season finale for both teams Saturday (Feb. 19) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Bardaglio was outstanding, setting a new career mark with nine three pointers. He shot 66.7% (10-of-15) from the floor and 90% (9-of-10) from the charity stripe.

After scoring 21 points in the opening half, he nailed a three-pointer on his first shot of the second stanza to eclipse the 1,000 career point mark.

The Chargers (12-12, 8-5 TCCC) were also led by freshman forward Robbie Burke (Cheshire, MA) who recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Colby-Sawyer came out firing shooting 59.4% from the floor in the first-half, including going 9-of-10 from beyond the arc to take a 49-34 lead entering the break.

The Golden Bears (4-21, 3-10 TCCC) battled back in the second-half led as senior forward Brad Thomka (Springfield, MA) scored a team-high 24 points and eight rebounds.

Senior guard Chris Devine (Wilbraham, MA) contributed 15 points and four assists while senior guard Andre Duncan (Bronx, NY) scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Senior center Conor Lomas (Wilbraham, MA) pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
