Korby Anderson (Owantonna, MN) had a goal and assist to lead the Becker men's hockey team to a 5-4 victory over Western New England Saturday afternoon (Feb. 5) at Smead Arena.
The Hawks scored four times in the second period that proved to be the difference in raising their record to 7-10-3 overall and 4-2-3 in the ECAC Northeast.
Western New England (5-15-1, 2-8 ECAC Northeast) took a 2-0 lead in the opening period following a short-handed goal by freshman forward
Alan Martin (Monson, MA) at 10:30 and goal by freshman forward
John Kelly (Long Island, NY) at 14:19.
Becker then netted the next five goals starting when sophomore forward
Ron Pavia (Rehoboth, MA) scored on a power goal shot at 15:37 of the first period.
Anderson tied the contest with his 14th goal of the season just 33 seconds into the middle period. Freshman forward
Michael Hollander (Thornhill, ONT) gave the visitors their first lead at the 3:46 mark as Anderson and sophomore forward Branden Parkhouse (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) gained the assists.
The Hawks scored twice in the final 2:51 on goals by sophomore forward
Jeff Petersen (Syracuse, NY) at 17:09 and the eventual game-winner on a power play by junior forward

The Golden Bears rallied in the third stanza getting within 5-3 when Kelly scored at the 9:12 mark. Freshman forward
