LUDLOW, Mass. - The Western New England men's tennis team set a school record for wins after blanking Anna Maria 9-0 Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 19) at the Ludlow Tennis Club.
The Golden Bears improved their record to 13-3, breaking the old mark of 12 set back in 2003.

Jenn Kolins' team also raised its record to 9-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) and secured a home playoff spot in the upcoming conference tournament that begins next Monday (Apr. 25).
Western New England had little problem against the AMCATS dropping only three points in the doubles competition and seven points in singles play. Anna Maria is now 2-12 overall and 0-10 in conference action.

Mike Jones (Stone Ridge, NY) increased his singles record to 13-3 with a 6-2, 6-2 decision at the number one position.

Matt Minahan (Plymouth, MA) and junior newcomer
Shawn Fitzpatrick (Burnt Hills, NY) posted an 8-1 victory at number three doubles. They have teamed for a 12-2 mark this season.
Western New England hosts TCCC leader Nichols (13-4, 10-0 TCCC) at 3:30 pm Wednesday (Apr. 20) with a chance to grab the regular season league title.
