NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina women's volleyball team outlasted Western New England 3-2 to remain unbeaten in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Wednesday night (Sept. 28) at the Rodgers Recreation Center.
The Seahawks (7-6, 3-0 CCC) won the match by the scores of 16-25, 25-21, 25-21, 21-25, and 15-7.
Sophomore outside hitter
Clare Adams (New Concord, OH) had a double-double with 18 kills and 10 digs to lead the hosts. Junior libero
Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, MA) added 26 digs while freshman setter
Taylor Violet (Tiverton, RI) dished out 37 assists.
The Golden Bears had a nice team effort as freshman outside hitter
Kasey Cameron (Reading, MA) totaled 13 kills followed by sophomore middle hitter
Tyler Singh (Dumont, NJ) with 10 kills and seven digs.
Freshman libero
Grace Kucharski (Avon, CT) contributed 18 digs and three service aces while senior right side hitter
Inna Sergeychik (West Springfield, MA) chipped-in with 11 digs and seven kills.
Junior setter
Heather Mears (Amherst, MA) had 33 assists and eight digs.
Western New England falls to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
