Western New England can't find shooting touch in dropping a 57-36 decision at Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. – Western New England shot only 25.0% from the field in suffering a 57-36 setback to host Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball game game Tuesday night (Jan. 10) at Tansey Gymnasium.

Senior guard Eric Prue (Auburn, ME) netted a game-high 13 points with four steals for the Leopards who are now 7-3 overall following their third straight win and 3-1 in conference play.

Senior guard Adam Dombrowski (Dunstable, MA) contributed a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Western New England senior guard Andre Shaw (New York, NY) scored the first basket of the game before Wentworth took over taking a 19-9 lead at the 8:17 mark and 26-21 advantage at intermission.

The Golden Bears still trailed by only five at 31-26, but scored only two points in a six-minute stretch as the hosts opened up a 43-28 lead with 10:12 to play.

Shaw and junior guard Damon Alston (New Britain, CT) each netted nine points for Western New England. Sophomore forward Daniel Minto (West Hempstead, NY) added seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Wentworth shot 41.2% from the floor and out-rebounded WNE by a 40-30 margin. The Golden Bears had better luck at the foul line making 12-of-16 attempts (66.7%).

Western New England drops to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in the CCC.
